My name is Tiera Uqiilaq Schroeder. I am a Yup'ik woman from Curyung (Dillingham), with German, British, and Russian ancestry. My parents are Mary Barnes and the late Baze Schroeder. My grandparents are the late Daisy and Harry Barnes Sr., and Meg and Hudy Schroeder. I'm a doctoral student advised by Dr. Sara Buckingham in the clinical-community psychology phd program at UAA. My research focuses primarily on cultural identity, Alaska Native wellbeing, and intergenerational connection. I am passionate about living my Native values and finding ways to integrate them into the research, clinical, and community work I do.
