Laura Ekada

Laura Deloodeneenła Ekada received her bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Biomedicine from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Ekada's family is from Koyukuk, Nulato and Minto. She was raised in the village of Minto by her grandparents. At UAF, Laura is a research technician. She does collaborative research with Dr. Inna Rivkin in partnership with Alaska Native communities to explore perspectives and strengths of Indigenous peoples in rural Alaska. Laura is currently working as a caregiver and preparing her application for medical school. Students joining as poster co-presenters include Peter Lowe, Shooka Dalilak, Sophie Hertkorn-Haas, and Britan Wallace.
