The Alaska Native Health Research Conference brings the Alaska research community together to foster new connections and share research conducted with and by Alaska Native peoples. The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) Research Services Department and their partners present research on the following topics:

Integrating Genomics Research and Alaska Native/American Indian Perspectives
December 10th, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, NUKA Learning and Wellness Center
Join us for an interactive and welcoming workshop exploring the expanding field of genomics and how it is beginning to be used in medicine. Learn through an accessible introduction to genomics, including key concepts, historical milestones, recent advances, and the early successes in genomic medicine. Experiences conducting research in partnership with Alaska Native and American Indian communities will be discussed, highlighting collaborative approaches, cultural considerations, key findings, and future opportunities. Together, the expert presenters will discuss how genomics research can be carried out in respectful partnership with Indigenous communities and lead a discussion on ethical considerations.
