Claire Thomas

Dr. Claire E. Thomas is a postdoctoral research fellow who joined the division of Public Health Sciences at Fred Hutch Cancer Center in May of 2022. She received her PhD in epidemiology from the University of Pittsburgh and her MPH and BS from Boston University. Her research interests at Fred Hutch within The Genetics and Epidemiology of Colorectal Cancer Consortium (GECCO) include integrating diverse domains of data to facilitate a more holistic understanding of cancer etiology and outcomes, where she works with germline genetic, somatic mutation, epidemiologic, tumor immune profile, and microbiome data. In her previous work at University of Pittsburgh she studied hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer), with a focus on candidate biomarkers as early detection risk factors and a non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) genetic risk score. Claire is a singer, baker, and silks aerialist in her free time.
